Dr. Jianqi Qin is an associate professor in the School of Earth and Space Sciences at Peking University. His recent research interests include remote sensing of the upper atmospheres of terrestrial planets (e.g., Earth and Mars); Radiative transfer theory, forward and inverse model development, and data analysis related to satellite extreme and far ultraviolet (EUV and FUV) remote sensing; Ionospheric effects of thunderstorm activity; and gas discharge phenomena (e.g, lightning, streamers, sprites, halos). Dr. Qin received his PhD degree in Electrical Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University in 2013. Prior to joining Peking University, he worked as a research scientist in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
