Profile

Donggang CAO is a research professor in the Department of Computer Science and technology, School of EECS, Peking University. He obtained his Bachelor, then M.Sc. in Computer Software from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications in 1998 and 2001 respectively, and Ph.D. from Peking University in 2004. His research interests include system software, IoT OS, distributed computing, cloud computing and big data processing.

Dr. CAO has published more than 40 research papers, and hold more than 10 patents in the field of system software, and has won several prizes. In 2008, he won the 2nd Prize of National Technology Innovation Award (personal ranked 6th) from the State Council of China, for his contribution to component-based application server system optimization technologies. In 2011, he won the 1st Prize of Science and Technology Award of Electronics and Information (personal ranked 6th) from the Chinese Institute of Electronics, for his contribution to the design and implementation of JEE component in the Chinese middleware integration suite Orientware. In 2015, he won the 1st Prize of Science and Technology Award (personal ranked 6th) from the Ministry of Education, China, for his contribution to the software defined cloud system management technologies. In 2016, he won the 1st Prize of Science and Technology Award (personal ranked 3rd) from the Shandong Province, for his contribution to the design of application supporting platform for modern services.
