His research interests include remote sensing of ecology (e.g. vegetation dynamics mapping, soil moisture retrieval, wetland classification, and ecological safety assessment), geospatial techniques for natural disaster management (e.g. population estimation with multi-sensor data, damaged building retrieval, population loss estimation), and geospatial data mining and modeling (e.g. machine learning in remote sensing big data).
