Carbon Nanotube/Polymer Coaxial Cables with Strong Interface for Damping Composites and Stretchable Conductors

Hits:

Journal:Advanced Functional Materials
Abstract:The SWNT@MWNT coaxial cable has a novel hierarchical structure and shows strong interfacial strength owing to the residual stress-induced deposition of amorphous carbon. The highly porous multi-walled nanotube (MWNT) sponge shell is conveniently infiltrated by polymer to fabricate composites with superior interfacial shear strength. The SWNT@MWNT/polymer composites demonstrate high mechanical damping ability and could serve as stretchable conductors.
